MUMBAI: A petty fight over a cricket ball and a pet dog led to a murder of a 30 year old youth in Bhandup on late Saturday night.
In a shocking and daring incident, three to four persons residing in the same vicinity, barged into the house of a criminal in Bhandup and assaulted him with swords in front of his wife and kids and killed him. The city crime branch sources said have detained few suspects in connection with the murder.
Anil Pandey (30), a history-sheeter is survived his wife and two children. Pandey who is associated with a gang has cases of assault, extortion and firing.
According to the Bhandup police,decased Pandey, a resident of Ram nagar had gone along with his pet dog outing in a nearby ground where some youths were playing cricket.As the batsman hit a shot, Pandey,s dog caught the ball and refused to let. Police said that one of the youth tried to snatch the ball and in the melee, the dog bit him. "This led to a heated arguments and exchange of abuses between the two". Said an official.
On late Saturday night accused who are also resident of the same vicinity, in the fit of rage barged into Pandey,s tiny house in Ram Nagar in Bhandup and assaulted him with choppers and swords 0in front of his wife and kids and fled away. "He was rushed to the nearby hospital but was declared dead. Now it appears that his killing was a fallout of some old rivalry over monetary issue. Crime branch have detained some suspects ".Said an officer from Bhandup police station.
